Knick-Knack, paddy whack, my mind is blown. You mean I can find nostalgic items with 21st century quality right down the road?
Funky & Functional has the vintage furniture and jewelry items you didn’t know you were looking for. I am a huge of having a treasure trunk as a coffee table. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any that matched the feel of my apartment and were within my budget. No need to fret, my dear, I found a «funky» red one for under $ 50! While it is a little quirky than my minimalist tastes, I think it adds a spice of color my living room was longing for.
Not only does this place have unique finds (type writers, makeup train cases from the 50’s, records) it is insanely spacious! I was not expecting it to be so huge! With such a great location and affordable vintage quality, this may be my new go-to thrift store.
Now if I can just get an apartment with a mini-patio garden so I can get those cute decorative wrought iron benches and fountain I saw.

Love this place, they always have a near nostalgic variety of things. Every time I’m anywhere close to this location I have to go in and take a look at what is new. Apparently they lease the space out to several different vendors/collectors, which is a good thing because it keeps it interesting. Their Facebook page gives a good visual of what kinds of things they carry. Too many to name in a review.

Another great vintage store! This tiny little shop in the Short North boasts a pretty decent selection of vintage furniture and home goods, with everything from Mid-Century to turn-of-the-century. I saw old typewriter tables, vintage luggage, credenzas, wooden chairs, dining sets, and more. Definitely a wide selection of goods from different eras at all kinds of price points.
Everything there is very good vintage quality, so you aren’t going to feel like you’re sifting through the Goodwill junk to find something decent. Vendors seem to price their goods fairly reasonably as well.
There is also a fairly large room in the back that seems to be mostly full of vintage jewelry. I didn’t look there too thoroughly, but from what I did see it was a wide selection at decent prices.
I will definitely be heading back to F&F in the future to do a more thorough look-see and maybe even pick up things for the casa.

I am LATE with my review about FUNKY & FUNCTIONAL. The staff was great. The delivery service they hire is hit or miss. You get what you get. I bought a NICE dining room set from F&F. Now it took 2 times to get the delivery company to work the schedule for delivery out… the staff at F & F was always helpful…5 starts for F & F

Now that I’m a resident of Short North, I have no excuse for not visiting all these little shops and restaurants that have been on my «bookmarks» list for months (well, except for the whole «needs money» part). The boy and I went for a stroll during the Gallery Hop this past Saturday, and this was one of our stops. There was a gorgeous sideboard marked down to $ 2799 from $ 4999, with tons of drawers, wine storage, and shelves for dishes. It would have literally taken up a whole wall of my little studio, not to mention my entire budget for two months. On the more affordable side, there was a cute wine decanter set for $ 12, some cute bistro chairs, a nice little café table and chairs, and rows upon rows of jewelry displayed in the back room. Also, if you are looking for an old-fashioned typewriter, they had at least five or six scattered throughout the store.
I’m glad I live just down the street from this place, since I’m sure I’ll be back again soon (hopefully with a little money this time)!

Neat place with a lot of well-selected and arranged vintage furniture, fixtures, and other tantalizingly oddball items. What with it being right in the middle of the Short North I was fearing the price tags, but after seeing a few I’d have to admit the prices are reasonable. Some great mid-century pieces and even a tiki item that I nearly bought… but… not quite. Next time for sure, though…

I had a lot of fun browsing here. They have everything from vintage luggage to classic mid-century glassware to original art. I love older jewelry, and spent a grand total of $ 12 on a silver necklace and bracelet. The proprietor is very knowledgeable about antiques, and I had a great time watching her school some know-it-all who wanted to sell a piece of furniture.

Love, love, love this place! I have a friend that lives just down the street and I can’t count how many times I’ve just randomly glanced in but not really gone in. When we decided to redo our bedroom and I wanted antique furniture, I remembered this place. I got some really cool books for accessories on the wall. I told the girl what I was looking for and left my number in case a dresser came in. (Honestly, I didn’t expect her to call because I just figured it was an appeasing thing like a few other places have done) A few days later she called and it was the PERFECT piece! We came in and bought it on the spot and I picked up a few other things too.
Turn over on some vendors is quick so if you see something, get it! (I think she said they’ll hold it for a week if you buy it and need to get a way to get it home) I think we’ve been to every antique store in Columbus over the past month and this is by far one of my faves now! Their prices are really reasonable too which is nice because I’ve seen some that are ridiculously overpriced.

Damn, Gina! I found where I’m purchasing items to redecorate my house!
After being inspired by reading a review of F&F (thanks, Michelle!) I had to give this place a visit. I’m in nesting mode and am sick of the same housewares I’ve had since my first college apartment. It’s time for a change! And one that doesn’t break the bank.
All items are gently used, but handpicked and cleaned-up. There are vendors who choose to bring in their best-of-the-best and have designated areas for their chosen items. Book shelves, tables, china, wall décor, vintage jewelry — kinda like a classy flea market actually.
Yes, I could spend my money shopping online for new items I can’t «see», scour every thrift store and Craigslist listing in the Columbus area, or even take a trip to the Cinci Ikea; but instead, it looks like I found somewhere way better with items that are unique, have character and perhaps even a story. Creative decorative juices — you best get flowin’! F&F is your decorative oyster…

After searching and searching thift stores, craigslist, and vintage stores throughout Columbus for a decent dresser that wasn’t overpriced I ended my search here.
They have a wonderful selection of furniture, jewelry, and housegoods that are more charming than most things found in Goodwill and priced sensibly.
To top it off the gentleman to help with my purchase was fantastic and friendly. This will be my first stop from now on.

I went to Funk & Functional when it first opened, and I recently went during the last gallery hop; boy, has it improved! At first I felt like F&F was just a step above Goodwill, but my most recent trip reminded me more of Grandview Mercantile. Well, almost. But they had better prices than GM. I think I could actually afford the furniture at F&F!

As my mother said, «this is like all stuff you can get at Salvation Army, but picked out and cleaned up.»
For a guy who is tired of finding nothing worthwhile on his thrifting trips, F&F is a wonderland.
Sadly, my home has almost no place for shabby chic and retro looks, but I’ll keep this shop in mind for future homes and friends.

During a round of window shopping while visiting the family, my sister and her girlfriend notice this little unassuming antique store and request a stop.
What a great find.
This is the kind of antique store that makes antique stores have a good name. There is a great mix of the older stuff and the modern stuff at prices so great, I was amazed. If this place was in Los Angeles, everything would be doubled in price.
Lucky for those living in Ohio, this place really does live up to it’s name. It has functional stuff, like furniture, luggage, glassware and jewelry and it also has it’s share of funky with a great collection of beer steins, original art and other unique décor.
If your passion is for cool and unique home and personal decoration on the cheap, take a half hour to visit this place, you won’t regret it!
